Why is buckethead so good

He has produced several music videos from his solo discography,. He has a music style that is diverse enough to appeal to any audience, whether it be middle-aged women to young kids. Buckethead has an impressive array of heart-warming and tear-inducing works of music. Several Buckethead fans have admitted to breaking down into tears after hearing some of his most emotional songs and albums. He has provided an unlimited supply of Halloween-themed music.

Many artists write songs about fairly arbitrary and non-contextual things, or stick to a general theme, but Buckethead song titles vary in complexity and theme, from the environment, to bodies of water, to dreams, to everyday kitchen items, horror media, and amusement parks! He is known to be a shredder, but he can also slow things down if he wants to. He has recorded songs that range from an average of thirteen notes per second to one note per every 1. He also does not let time or disc memory limit his creativity.

Sometimes he can express something adequately in just a few seconds, or he can take 45 minutes. He has released a single collection of music with over 92 songs, and others where the whole album is just 1 uninterrupted song. In several cases he plays the bass in his own musical recordings.

He is not afraid of bringing inspirations from his personal life into his music. He has dedicated several albums and songs to family members, friends, heroes, athletes, artists, and writers. He is fairly cultured for a guitarist, and has written songs about lots of humanities-inspired works. He explores other artistic mediums like drawing and paintings, and has produced and sold hundreds of each. Buckethead allows people close to him from outside of the music industry take part in the recording process.

He has let family members do voice work on some of his albums, and his dad even showed up in a music video! He has played a few private gigs for some avid fans, including a wedding!

He is somewhat of a political activist, mostly thanks to Bootsy and Viggo Mortensen. He never ever brags about his musical abilities and always says he could be better. He is philanthropic, all proceeds to purchasing the single The Rising Sun went to disaster victims of the Japanese tsunami of He has gifted several of his guitars.

Speaking of kids, he loves kids! He is kind, and only speaks highly of others, and never speaks ill of anyone in the entertainment industry. He is called by many friends, associates, and co-artists the nicest and humblest guy they know. He has an amazing sense of humor. He loves the crap out of his fans. This is best demonstrated through his toy exchanges, interactive shows, selling pikes for a cheap price,. He has a deep, sincere, and profound love for his family—especially his parents. Where most guitarists do interviews talking about their music, bragging, or answering fan questions, Buckethead selflessly dedicated his only out-of-character interview to sharing his struggles in life with the whole world, and overcoming his weaknesses through hard work and determination.

Brian is the tuba player from the now defunct electronic rock band Drums and Tuba. I grew up catching these guys and was sorry to miss his solo performance. Something is wrong with that. It most definitely is not. A fan informed me that the reason was that he always stays an hour away from the venue so as to keep people aloof about who he is.

Well let me go ahead and spoil it, his name is Brian Carroll, from California. I made my way down to front right around PM to the disgust of many angry fans that were simply rude to me. I found a spot dead center in the third row and waited. Some had shown up as early as PM to get a spot on the rail. It was an incredibly diverse crowd too. Everyone from hippie to metal head was in attendance at the Aggie. So when Buckethead finally made it onstage the crowd was in a tizzy, it took all of about 30 seconds for the front rows to disintegrate into a giant mosh pit.

I held on tightly to my camera as some of the fans around me attempted to hold back the sea of people. It was all for naught.

I got a few pictures and that was it. I was pushed out. Not only that, but most of the people who had been waiting for hours to see their hero were also in the back by the second or third song.

At that point I made my way upstairs where Scoo had graciously given me refuge. I was finally able to focus on the music and in all honesty Buckethead is a hell of a guitarist.

His ability to mash the fret board and squeeze-in an insane amount of notes is nothing short of awe inspiring. Going from guitar to bass he is one of the most musically proficient individuals ever to perform live. There was a carnival-like atmosphere as Buckethead reached into his giant sack mid-set to disperse random toys to the crowd.

Afterwards, he jammed on the bass before going back to his guitar for a face-melting solo. What was the point? It would be easy to assemble a group of talented musicians that would follow his every lead.

In the end, I just tried to enjoy myself as these questions swirled around my head. The show ended as quickly as it began with Buckethead heading backstage and out into the darkness of the night. Buckethead is an amazing musician with far too much distracting from his playing. Email This BlogThis! Share to Twitter Share to Facebook.

Slash is more poupular and more credited but Buckethead is a better guitar player. If Slash went solo, what would he do? It's amazing isn't it. I saw a video on Youtube of Bickethead playing Immigrant Song but when I looked at it a second time it was taken off.

Soothsayer 2. Nottingham Lace 3. Padmasana 4. Ballad of Buckethead 5. Bug Sur Moon. I agree with Kreo. It's not just mindless shredding. There are so many songs where you can see his melodic talents. Soothsayer is brilliant. Listen to it with the lights off and your eyes closed and it'll take you somewhere else. OH and making a response to antiguy he is so unpopular because he releases his albums in secret, lets them spread by word of mouth.

I've learned to never put down one player just to bolster another I'm sure Buckethead would say the same thing You lost me right after you said he was the best after Page. Don't get me wrong, Page was excellent and one of the reasons I first picked up the guitar. But his strengths were more towards guitar arrangements and melodies.

Page is no Jeff Beck! If you've never heard of Jeff Beck, then you're probably not qualified to have a learned discussion about guitarists. It's good that you like Buckethead The really great ones seperate themselves by being unique Les Paul once said to jazz great Pat Martino; "you've got great licks and chops There's a lot to be said for that simple statement.

I like him as much if not better than Stevie Ray or even 2U He is right up there with the best.. I would like to see Jeff Beck get on stage with a bucket on his head an hear how good he plays..

So many of these guitar players need a gimmick to just be seen less heard.. Posted by Gitarzan on Tuesday, I doubt it Get with IT Buckethead Kills!!! He mean business..! I like Buckethead..!!! Your comment stated that Page was the greatest in your eyes. And all I am saying is that Page cannot play with Beck. Oage himself has said that Beck is the best. Just stating the facts.

Ooops - clearly my mind wasn't working well this morning - damn that Jack Daniels. I meant to say that my comment was Page vs Beck. Since Page admits to Beck's superior abilities, then that should answer your question on the greatness of Jeff Beck.

Especially since you rate Buckethead over everyone except Page. Personally, I have no issues with Buckethead's playing. He is a master musician. But in my opinion, he is still not in the conversation when it comes to Beck, Hendrix and Duane Allman. I admit that my opinion is subjective because those three influenced my generation and me personally as a musician.

There is nothing those three couldn't do. Perhaps if I was younger, it would be different. All B. Since Page admits to Beck's superior abilities really?!

Hey Tek Posted by teknik on Wednesday, I like Buckethead. I have to say.. Thsat is so deep and chill..

You talk about cutting edge stuff..! I wonder if he is a circus clown gone wild..? As far as his sound goes.. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. Posted by Blah-blah-blah on Wednesday, XP Posted by teknik on Wednesday, I didn't know Dark Knights needed protection.. I guess that bucket really can protect.. From the light getting into his mind..?

It really works try it It may help with his sound also.. Too bad he is all Hollywood Hype. Posted by Brian on Wednesday, He was raised in a chikin coop and they were his only friends in childhood. Buckethead song may have strange names but every single one has meaning. This album also talks about dreaming of not being picked on. Buckethead deserves to get in for he has worked with many different artists like Les Claypool, and many more.

He also plays on ten of the tracks on Guns N Roses new album Chinese Democracy and has writing credits on two of the songs. K, I'll tell you what. The best Guitarist since hendrix? Jimmy Page? Cmon people.

You are forgetting Jimmy Page, which, by himself, was one of the greatest guitarist of all time. I'd only rank him below Clapton and Hendrix. And Jack White is amazing, also, and freaking Kirk Hammett! What is wrong with you guys.. I'm still awed and appalled by this argument..

I've seen lists where Page has been called the 'best AND the "worst". You did mention some players that I also deem great players, though If I started a list of great players, it would be very long and a lot of names on it would be unrecognized by some who frequent this site.

Ok i know this is wayy late.. Buckethead is NOT a mindless shredder-- anyone who says that obviously hasnt listened to anything other than jordan from guitar hero. In addition If you're talking about the most original and who puts the most soul and feeling into his music Anyone who knows nothing or hardly anything about Buckethead, just leave from here. The mask and Bucket But if I'm, like, this weird freak It opened the door to endless possibilities. Every reason I became Buckethead and am Buckethead has to do with the way I live.

It's not because I thought it'd be successful. I never use anything that isn't part of what I really loved as a child or love right now. Besides how is it a gimmick if it drives people away? No one thinks a bucket and mask on a person looks cool, so how exactly is it a gimmick? Take it from me, i know so much about this guy, his technical skills with the guitar are through the roof, not to mention hes fast as hell. But, screw the fastness, thats not why he should be inducted. Hes got so much genius work in all his other albums that show soul.

Yes, hes a totally different style, but first you say Hendrix is so good because he was different? Well wtf? Buckethead is different and now different is bad? Make up your mind! If you keep comparing guitarists to people who are already in the Hall of Fame, then you know what youre gonna get? A big Hall of Fame full of the same shit, similar styles. Buckethead even made his own genre of music and actually pulled it off really well, doesnt creating a new genre of music add another reason for him to be inducted?

I think so. All you people who call him a freak show are no different than the losers who only want to see a pretty face but care jack shit about the human behind that face. Judge him by how he looks? Well thats just sad. Now ill end this long ass comment with a list of the greatest songs by Buckethead not in any particular order, just a list.

Theyre of songs that hes played with other artists and on his own, check them out: 1. Padmasana 2. Soothsayer 3. The entire Population Override album 5. Nottingham Lace 6. The entire Shadows Between the Sky album new as of The entire Real Diamond in the Rough album 9. The Blind Watch Maker The entire Colma album
