When is the slowest time of year at disney world

The weather begins to rise in March, and the water parks re-open during the first half of the month. April is characterized by heavier crowds and milder temperatures.

Spring Break and the Easter holiday are especially popular times to visit Disney World, so we would avoid these periods if possible.

Temperatures rise to the mids and the flowers and trees are in full-bloom mode. Crowds moderate during May because there are no major holidays or school vacations. Thunderstorms are common occurrences during the afternoon. The summer season kicks off during June. While the first half of the month sees fewer crowds, the latter half experiences heavy traffic as students are off on summer break.

Single-day ticket prices increase as the crowds swell, but the parks do have extended hours and more shows and activities to even out the lines a bit. June has long days of sunshine and hot weather, so come prepared with your sunscreen. A great time of the year to visit the water parks! See our Blizzard Beach vs Typhoon Lagoon page. Rain and thunderstorms are also common. The good news is that the theme parks have extended hours so you may want to hit the air-conditioned attractions, eat your meals, or head back to the pool during the hottest times of the day while experiencing the main attractions during the mornings and early evenings.

The Disney World weather can reach extremes during August, the hottest month of the year. You can beat the afternoon heat by seeking shelter at air-conditioned attractions and shows, restaurants, AMC movie theatre Disney Springs , and at the water parks and Disney resort pools. Crowds are heavy for most of August, but the parks do thin out a little as kids return to school towards the second half of the month.

Early September is still hot, but temperatures do moderate slightly as the month wears on. The latter half of September is one of the best times to go to Disney World because the weather is decent and lines are manageable since most kids are back to school. September is a great time to visit Disney World! The afternoons are still hot but the evening temperatures drop considerably during the month of October.

October may be the best month to visit Disney World! But if you avoid this week and weekends around the holiday , then you will experience pleasant weather, relatively short lines, and a festive holiday atmosphere. December is a popular time to visit Disney World because, well, most people love the holidays and most children are out on school break. In conclusion, the best time to go to Disney World will depend on your personal preferences.

It will depend on what your budget and timing allow. That said, there are certain times of the year that have better weather and fewer crowds. This is quantifiable. Luckily, many of these periods are also less expensive. We personally view September — Early December minus Thanksgiving week as the best time to go to Disney World, followed by the late winter through the short spring season. These time periods have favorable weather and fewer crowds.

Just avoid school break weeks, if possible. We would certainly recommend staying at a Disney Resort and checking out at least two of the theme parks.

Hi Esy, The Easter crowds usually stick around for the week following the holiday, so it's likely that you may run into higher crowds through April Name Name is required. For starters, the parks get more and more crowded as the day goes on, and if you arrive at opening time, you will be able to go on your favorite ride or attraction without any line.

Your best battle plan is to arrive early in the parks and spend a few hours going on as many rides and attractions as you can. Around lunchtime, when the parks are hitting their peak crowds, consider heading back to your hotel for a bite to eat and some downtime. You can return to the parks in the late afternoon when many families are waning and starting to leave the parks for dinner.

The best way to outsmart crowds, though, is to accurately predict the crowd size for the day of your visit and plan accordingly using these strategies for dealing with different crowds. The Touring Plans' Disney World Crowd Calendar is a great resource for getting a gauge on what to expect for the crowd sizes on every day of the year.

If you come with the right clothes jeans, leggings, jackets, and maybe even hats and scarves at night , it can make for really enjoyable park days. I think the winter months are the biggest swing months weather wise. As a general rule, the off-season is cheaper.

Prices usually follow the crowd calendar with the off season being cheaper and the peak season being downright ridiculous. Ticket pricing now fluctuates depending on demand so tickets for days when crowds are projected to be high will be higher. Resorts and hotel prices including vacation packages change a lot also depending on crowds. But Disney runs so many promotions and specials throughout the year so keep an eye out for discounts. Holidays are some of the most popular times of year to visit Walt Disney World.

Halloween and Christmas draw big crowds because of the extra special celebrations. All four parks Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom and the resorts get in the spirit with holiday parades, decor and a special ticket event in the Magic Kingdom after hours.

Now, when exactly are the holidays at Disney? At least at Disney. Halloween starts end of August and runs up to Novmber 1 when they quickly do a switcheroo and start busting out the Christmas decorations by November 8th. Because people come from all over to visit Walt Disney World, they want to give people as much time as possible to celebrate ahem spend money during each holiday.

Remember how I told you that Disney has figured out ways to draw people in during what used to be relatively slow parts of the year? Let me introduce you to the International Festivals of the Arts!

Epcot is unique from all of the other parks because it has a whole world of festivals that run for a few months at a time.
