I am aware that Coral Rings are essential to cheesing Grand Dragons and making the game ridiculously easy, but you can just do that after you return to Zidane's group following the events in Treno, and it would be even easier to do then because you can have multiple Coral Rings at that point. As far as I can see, the only advantage there is to letting Freya win the Festival of the Hunt is that impatient people can get a Coral Ring a little teeny bit sooner.
